Overnight 1,145 Tory members took part in a ConservativeHome poll on the main measures announced by George Osborne in his Comprehensive Spending Review.

Tory members give strong backing to the Chancellor’s decisions on (a) child benefit, (b) investment in capital projects, science and apprenticeships, (c) the crackdown on waste, and (d) forcing the BBC to share in austerity.

The decisions to put £1bn into a Green Investment Bank and also to put £2.7bn more into the aid budget, while cutting defence, are unpopular choices. Read in full by clicking here.
